Bishop Elect Kieran O’Reilly’s Ordination will take place at Ennis Cathedral on Sun.29th Aug. at 3pm. Ballynacally/Lissycasey Parish has been allocated 11 tickets for the occasion. People who are interested in attending the Ordination are asked to submit their name to the Parish Office on Thurs.10am. – 2pm. or to Fr. Joe or Fr. Tom, not later than Thurs. evening 5th Aug. Tickets will be allocated by a draw.

Munster Fleadh Results: Well done to all who competed in various competitions in Kenmare last week. The 1st and 2nd in each category go through to the All Ireland Fleadh. Congratulations to all and best of luck in the All Ireland in Cavan later this month.

Seisiun: Local Ladies Sinead Neylon and Anne Hayes are part of the Comhaltas Seisiun taking place every Wed. in the Teach Cheoil, Kilrush during the months of  Aug. at 9p.m.The sesiun consists of an hour long show followed by an informal session at which the audience takes part. Sinead dances in the show and Anne is on vocals, bodhran & guitar.

 

Kildysart Festival Weekend is in full swing! The Festival Parade begins on this Sun. at 2pm. led by the Tulla Pipe Band. Music in the Square 3pm -6pm by Michael Sexton; Vintage car display and monster Field Day, followed by more street music 7pm. – 10pm. by Naked Bear.

On Bank Holiday Monday, there will be a Soap Box Derby at 4pm. Disco by DJ Thunder later, and the announcement of the Lord Mayor at the Alders at 8pm.

 

Co Clare Agricultural Show, takes place in Ennis Showgrounds, on this Sun. Aug.1st. Fun for all the family from 10.30am. till late.

Irish Summer Camp for Primary School Students. Certificate in Applied Social Studies (with a focus on housing) This course is designed to introduce students to concepts of sociology and social studies and will do so with a particular focus on housing.   It provides students with an understanding of housing policy, legislation and practice, an opportunity to practice skills necessary for housing and community work, core themes in social housing (including tenure types, tenant participation and housing finance), exploration of concepts of community and community development, an analysis of homelessness and an introduction to key legislation in this area. It also includes modules on interculturalism, communications and applied psychology.
